Turret gunner protection has always been a priority at BMIDefenseSystems and the MRAP Gunner Protection Package (GPP) is no exception.
The MRAP GPP is the result of years of development and testing as well as overwhelming positive customer feedback. The MRAP GPP consists of an Ergonomic Gunner Seat with Integrated Restraint, an Energy-Attenuating Height-Adjustable Gunner Platform, and the Turret Stowage and Accessory Kit (T-SAK).
The MRAP Gunner Protection Package is a COTS solution that is designed to be installed without modifying the vehicle. It is available to fit the following variants.

The Ergonomic Gunner Seat and Restraint (EGSR, NSN 2540-01-570-0638) is optimized for comfort of the gunner while maintaining its functionality as an effective restraint to prevent ejection during rollover or an IED event. Six quick release buckles in strategic locations have been incorporated to allow unimpeded ingress/egress. The increased range of adjustability allows for use by the greatest number of gunners - from 50th percentile female to 95th percentile male.
The Energy Attenuating Gunner Platform (EA-RGP, NSN 2540-01-570-0762) utilizes the latest technology in blast protection to attenuate the forces normally transferred to the gunner in the event of an IED or mine blast. Height adjustability is accomplished without the need for external pins that are hard to insert, and an actuator pedal drops the platform to full depression in seconds when required. The re-designed standing surface of the platform eliminates the safety hazard caused by weapon lube and CLP that typically pools on the surface. Additionally, the Toe Cue™ provides a positive stop to keep the gunner's feet from slipping off the edge and allows him to know where his feet are located on the platform without looking down. The quick release interface assembly allows the platform to be removed from the vehicle in seconds to facilitate greater cargo capacity or use as a CASEVAC vehicle.
Our Gunner Accessory Package (GAP) is available as a Retrofit to the T-SAK and allows gunners to safely and effectively accomplish their mission without injury due to jostle from extreme terrain. BMI has incorporated the feedback and insight from gunners who have previously used our MRAP Gunner Protection Package and assures proper placement of items in relation to job duty.
The Turret Stowage and Accessory Kit (T-SAK, NSN 2510-01-570-1482) consists of an ergonomically designed grab handle, a weapon stowage hook for the gunner's personal weapon, and an assortment of pouches specifically designed for the escalation of force devices that a gunner must have at his disposal. Without these stowage considerations, each loosely stowed item can become a projectile during a rollover or IED event. The T-SAK incorporates the feedback and insight from gunners who have previously used our MOLLE Turret Panels and assures proper placement of items in relation to job duty.
All components of the MRAP GPP are protected under existing US Patents or are Patent Pending.
